Walk-In Wardrobes

The subject everyone is talking about.  This trendy craze has spread world wide bringing a little Hollywood glamour into our bedrooms.

A walk-in wardrobe is a great asset to have. It has a rich history of initially being a luxury that was only present in noble households using the finest craftsmanship making it highly desirable.  Since it is considered luxurious and sophisticated, walk-in wardrobes are now extremely popular and widely sought after while also adding value to your home.  Not only are they practical but they also allow you to display all your possessions in a way you can actually see and reach them easily.  They are built in a way where they can either stand out boldly or blend in the background, becoming your own secret pleasure.

Although it is thought that you need a large space and budget, walk-in wardrobes come in all shapes and sizes from 1 metre to 10 metres, the key is privacy and presentation as well as maximum use of storage.  It can be created by partitioning off an area of your bedroom or it can be an entire room altogether.

People usually think that walk-in wardrobes are only for the rich and famous but this is not the case.  Nowadays there are walk-in wardrobes for all budgets, and with an expert on hand from Lawrence Walsh, we can work with your specifications to make sure you get exactly what you want, with the best quality and finish available.

People nowadays are turning to walk-in wardrobes as a solution to their storage problems, and it is not only women but men too, hence the great idea of a ‘his and hers’ wardrobe.  There are a range of storage options available in a variety of colours and styles to choose from so the world is your oyster!  Think outside the box, think shoe racks, tie racks, pull down railings!

Look after your clothes and they’ll look after you.

If you’re stuck for ideas, here are a few examples of walk-in wardrobes with sliding doors from Lawrence Walsh furniture.

There are no rules when it comes to doing up your bedroom, although the only thing that is advisable is to buy quality bedroom furniture to ensure that it is going to last.

Lawrence Walsh Showroom Open Day with Vince Cable MP

A very successful Open Day for our new showroom!  On Wednesday the 27th July 2011 Lawrence Walsh Ltd officially opened their doors with MP Vince Cable to do the honours of cutting the ribbon.  This exciting day was filled with people from all over the business sector, we even had a special guest from America!

With a champagne and wine reception complimented with nibbles it is easy to imagine everyone engaging in polite conversation putting the world to right in a very relax atmosphere.  Naturally everyone was given a tour of the showroom creating a lot of interest between the different styles and ranges.

Here are a few photos of our opening day.  The first photo is with MP Vince Cable in the centre, our very happy company Director Jim Walsh on the left with Managing Director Ros Walsh (front right) and Sales Director Dominic Walsh (far right).

Earlier on Wednesday morning Jim was interviewed on BBC1 Radio 5 Live, discussing the involvement of MP’s with businesses in their constituency.  You can listen to it through the following link http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/console/b012njpb however I am working on providing a down-loadable version of this, but in the mean time you can access it from BBC1 website.

Our showroom boasts 17 displays all of which shows our extensive range of the finest free standing and fitted furniture created with stylish design features, solid construction and fine detailing.

Our main style is essentially British in character designed by us to give you quality throughout. We also show a contemporary range from sliding wardrobes to walk-in dressing rooms that are ultra sleek and smart using on trend colours and finishes.

One particular the piece that was highly admired was the curved wardrobe with both internal and external curves.  This is unique because of its unusual curved shape and sleek design creating a very contemporary and trendy feel to the room.  I have put a lot of photos up so you can have a look at this on our facebook sight: http://www.facebook.com/?ref=logo#!/pages/Lawrence-Walsh-Ltd/173917322662034

Quality is always in Fashion!

Everyone wants to be able to have nice things whether it’s a car, house or holiday in the Caribbean, but sometimes it is not good enough to have just a shell of something good.  After all you wouldn’t buy a Bentley with shabby interiors, the same goes to purchasing a house and filling it with furniture that doesn’t fit.
People are more inclined now to choose the better option, because at the end of the day it really is worth it!  There’s nothing worse then buying on a budget and finding out sooner rather then later it wasn’t worth it only to spend twice as much on something else.  Yes we’ve all done that at least one point in our lives, the best thing to do is to learn from it.
It is better to get it right the first time….or the second time in some cases, and for all those people who don’t know what they want or are indecisive, that is the beauty of our complete ranges! In my opinion quality products will always save you from making costly mistakes.
If you think about it, fashion is not only for the sake of on-trend items but an indication that something new, improved and even better has come along.  Something with quality, style and endurance, something that will stand the test of time.
There are some images in our previous posts of classic timeless furniture, however any of you who would prefer a more current range, here are a few other examples of contemporary furniture.

This is our new Italian range of fitted wardrobes.  The first image is of our curved wardrobe, perfect for corners and can be extended or reduced as you please!

The second and third is of our new sliding wardrobe range and all the shelving units can be accommodated to individual needs i.e. if one has a large amount of shoes (you can never have too many) we can accommodate for this!

Anyone who has slanted ceilings we can accommodate that too!

Accent the Awkward!

We have all been there, when it comes to getting new furniture, we all have that one small space in our house that just has to be awkward. And you have absolutely no idea what to do with it, or you do know what you want to do with it, you just don’t know how you’re going to achieve it, so you leave it empty there for millions of years catching cob webs and hoping it will go away.

Maybe you accommodate it with a bed squashed in the corner, perhaps with an old chair or table you never use because it’s not worth reaching for.  And all you want to do is just knock the entire thing down and re-build it to something you can work with?  I hear you.  I’m sure Smudge and Honey would like to snuggle quietly in that corner, but lets be honest it’s not a great view or the best use of that space.

Then your thinking I don’t have time to fix it so I’ll just have to deal with this awkward space…well don’t.  Make use with that space it’s just as much part of your house as everything else, it deserves some attention!
Our team can specially cater for all these odd spaces you don’t like, spaces such as curved walls and slanted ceilings from all angles. We have the perfect solution to an otherwise awkward space.

What that room needs is a fitted wardrobe or built-in furniture that will make it look snug and stylish. Bespoke furniture is the ideal solution in creating your perfect boudoir.  You must first face your demons head on, the problem won’t disappear on its own, bite the bullet, be bold, and accent the awkward!

All those in Favour?

Hello all!

Before I go on any further, I must introduce you first to my work colleagues and dearest friends, Honey and Smudge. They are our working Cocker Spaniels. They look after our security for which they are remunerated handsomely with Corporate treats.  Full of personality… sometimes a little too much, as they definitely make their voices heard!
Smudge led the way this morning into our work-in-progress newly built showroom (which will be ready in 2 weeks – there will be 17 displays).  As she sits on the floor next to a gorgeous pebble coloured chest, she was admiring the rest of the room in white furniture with red painted walls.

Its difficult to imagine, and most people would think - Oh dear!

But it really does work, the whole idea of mixing and matching furniture using bold colours works!  I say be bold, after all you want it to be your own, that shouts out ‘This is My Work -I did it’ and that accentuates your style.

Has anyone ever looked at a catalogue and thought to themselves ‘I want exactly that, everything in that room’ then reality hits you, and you realise you can’t afford or fit everything in the room.   But then you think well I can’t just buy one item because it won’t go with the rest of the room, it’s a catch 22 situation.
Well I say ignore those so-called ‘rules’ all these trendsetters make.  Make your own rules, it is after all your sanctuary from the madness surrounding us.

I think many people are realising this too, which is why the concept of ‘mixing the old with the new’ is in fashion, the rule is that there are no rules!  I am liking this concept, as the majority of people aren’t decorating experts and the only person that is going to judge your room is you.
All those in favour say aye!

As the showroom is still under construction, I do not have photographic evidence of this, but here is another example of using daring colours.
